The department responded to a residence for a gas stove left on accidentally for over 10 minutes with a strong odor of gas in the house. The home was ventilated and no other concerns noted.

The department along with department’s from Amherst, Hadley, Northampton, Pelham Police, and state police responded to a report of a female party that had fallen from a cliff on the Amethyst Brook Trail. Amherst Paramedic on scene comfirmed the death of the hiker.

The department responded to a residence at the request of the state police to assist with entry into the residence for a well being check. Upon arrival found access was gained and no services were needed.

The department responded to a residence for a tree on wires. Upon arrival found tree branches resting on the power line connected to the home. The electric company was notified.
Time of Call: 10:12am on February 19th, 2011
The department responded for power lines down. The electric company was notified to shut power off. WMECO responded and lines repaired. All units clear of the scene at 5:51pm.
Time of Call: 9:11pm on September 30th, 2010
The department responded to 206 North Valley Rd. for a tree on wires. Western Mass. Electric responded, tree removed.
Time of Call: 4:46pm on February 15th 2010
The department was dispatched to N. Valley Rd. for a report of a male patient with an unknown medical issue. Fire personnel determined the patient was having diabetic issues. The patient was transported to Cooley-Dickinson Hospital by Amherst Fire Dept. ambulance.
MA State Police and Pelham Police assisted at this incident.

The District-10 Task Force was activated for a major brush fire in Russell MA which had grown overnight to more than 75 acres. The Pelham Fire Dept. assisted along with the National Guard Air Wing and many local fire departments to extinquish the blaze.
