The department responded to a reported transformer fire. Upon arrival found no fire. Further investigation revealed no power in the area. WMECO notified.

The department responded for a report of power lines down and on fire in the area of 1 Harkness Rd. Investigation found no down wires or fire.

The department responded to a residence for a report of smoke backing up into the residence from a pellet stove. The fuel was removed from the stove and smoke ventilated from the home.
Time of Call: 7:46pm on August 19th, 2011
The department responded to a report of a small fire under a vehicle. Upon arrival found fire extinguished. Investigation revealed that fluids had dripped onto the vehicle exhaust pipe causing the small fire.

The department responded to a reported rubbish fire and smoke in the area. Investigation found smoke was result of a outside furnace unit in use.

The department responded to a residence for a report of smoke coming from electrical equipment on the house. Upon arrival found no smoke or fire. Investigation revealed contractor’s power washing the home had taken some insulation off the electrical service wire to the house. WMECO responded and the matter was addressed.

The department responded to a residence for a reported bedroom fire. Upon arrival found moderate smoke coming from the house and fire in the room. The fire had started in a mattress and was quickly extinguished. The room suffered smoke and heat damage. Amherst Fire Department provided mutual aid. No injuries reported.

The department responded to a reported motor vehicle fire. Upon arrival found a fully involved mini-van on fire. The vehicle was parked near a horse barn (horses evacuated) and 200 ft. from the residence. The fire was contained to the vehicle with no other property damage or injuries.

The department responded to a reported car fire on Amherst Rd. Upon arrival found vehicle to be overheated and no fire. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
