Motor Vehicle Accident: Rt. 202 at Shutesbury Rd.

The department was dispatched to the area of Rt. 202 at Shutesbury Rd. for a motor vehicle accident. There were no injuries.

The Amherst Fire Dept. responded with an ambulance to this incident.

Massachusetts State Police assisted with this incident.

Fire Call: Quabbin Reservoir – Gate 8 Boat Landing

Time of Call: 6:13pm on May 26th 2009

The department was dispatched to the Gate 8 boat landing for an out of control brush fire. The fire was started by (3) boaters who capsized their vessel and made a fire to stay warm.

Firefighters were taken to the remote location of the fire by State Police boat. Due to the size of the fire and hilly terrain, the Belchertown Fire Dept. was requested to assist. After roughly 3 hours the fire was extinguished and all units cleared the scene.

Massachusetts State Police and DCR officials assisted at this incident, including one MSP helicopter.

The department was dispatched to a Harkness Rd. residence for a 60-year-old male with low blood sugar. Personnel treated the patient and no transport was necessary.

The Pelham Police Dept. also assisted at this incident.

Motor Vehicle Accident: Amherst Rd. at Arnold Rd.

The department was dispatched to the area of Amherst Rd. at Arnold Rd. for a reported car into a ditch. Units arriving on scence found that the car had driven away.

Medical/Rescue Call: Harkness Rd.

The department was dispatched to the Pelham Elementary School at 45 Amherst Rd. for a report of a 47-year-old female experiencing an allergic reaction to medication. The patient was transported to Cooley-Dickinson Hospital.
The Amherst Fire Dept. responded with an ambulance to this incident.

Time of Call: 3:59am on May 16th 2009

The department was dispatched to a Harkness Rd. residence for help located an intoxicated teen who ran into the woods from State Police.  Fire personnel assisted in located the female who was then transported to Cooley-Dickinson Hospital.

The Amherst Fire Dept. responded with an ambulance to this incident.

Fire Department personnel discovered an illegal burn at an Amherst Rd. residence. Fire Chief Murphy was called to investigate. The resident was instructed to extinguish the fire and seek proper permits in the future.

Motor Vehicle Accident: 180 Daniel Shays Highway

Just after 9pm Leiutenant Hall came across a motor vehicle accident involving a moose on Rt. 202. There were no injuries to the driver of the car.

Pelham Police, Massachusetts State Police and Environmental Police assisted at this incident.
