The District-10 Task Force was activated for a major brush fire in Russell MA which had grown overnight to more than 75 acres. The Pelham Fire Dept. assisted along with the National Guard Air Wing and many local fire departments to extinquish the blaze.

The department was dispatched to the Highway Garage for a fire alarm sounding. Personnel arriving on scence determined the cause to be a faulty battery in the alarm panel.
Time of Call: 4:01pm on April 21st 2009
The department was dispatched to North Valley Rd. for a 2 car motor vehicle accident. Personnel arriving on scence treated two patients for minor injuries. One patient was transported by ambulance to Cooley-Dickinson Hospital.

The department was dispatched to a home on Amherst Rd of a permitted brush fire that was out of control. Personnel responded with the brush truck and were able to extinguish the fire.

The department was dispatched to the area of Rt. 202 at Gate 11 for a report of a paint thinner spilled. The spill was determined to be non-hazardous. Personnel used absorbant pads to stop the chemicals from spreading.

The department was dispatched to a home on Jones Rd for a Medical Alert activation, called in by the alarm company. Personnel arriving on scence determined it to be an accidental activation.

The department was dispatched to the public safety building at 2 South Valley Rd for a fire alarm sounding. Personnel arriving on scence determined the cause to be a faulty smoke detector. Building maintenance was notified.
